Hi,

I have exported my access database to oracle using the export option from access through DSN made to my oracle database. I face no problem in that and the table show up in oracle schema browser shows it and all the column info. But when query it it gives me error message "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist"

Interestingly I altered this table and dropped one field with no error.

I am using Oracle 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 and Toad v8.6.0.38

Regards

Mahtab

Would you mind showing us the EXACT select statement you used?

Did you alter the table at SQL prompt?

There may be a possibility that the table name is case sensitivene. in which case "EMP" is differnt than "emp". If the table name is case sensitive you may need to enclose the table name within double quotes.

Remove the double quotes or use uppercase objectnames (DBA_DATA_FILES. Double quotes make object names case-sensitive
