Hi Guyz,
I have been given the task of installation of oracle database server on a remote machine 'x' and am not sure of how to set display server can anyone help me out.

The ip address of my local machine is 156.70.199.54 so i want the x application to display on it so i need to do the following
$ DISPLAY=local_host:0.0 ; export DISPLAY
but i should be logged in the remote machine ,from there i need to do it am i right?

On the remote box, you should run

DISPLAY=156.70.199.54:0.0; export DISPLAY


On your local box, you need to ensure the remote host has privilege to display

xhost 156.70.199.54

Then you should be able to run your app from the remote box.
