Using UTL file is it possible to read selected text from text file. Is there any query where i can search only certain text from the text file and store it in table.
Please do reply ASAP.

Thanks

You could write a procedure (or function) that reads the txt-file line by line, testing each line for the appearance of your search-string. If your string could exist on multiple lines, you have to write your procedure to support that.

Why utl_file? I might be more inclined to either use an external table or a file datastore and search using Oracle Text.

It all depends on the database version, the size of the textfile and what you want to do with the text. As you can see in what Barbara and I suggest, there are more than 1 ways to solve your problem.
