hi,

i have a problem when i am trying to login to oracle,

its giving the error msg like

ora-01033 : oracle intialization or shutdown in progress


can anyone give a solution to overcome it

It seems that the database isn't up. If it is starting up, wait until it finishes. If it is shutting down, wait until it finishes and then start it up.

Sometimes it won't happen (for some reason) and you'll have to reboot your computer.

hi,

Thanks for ur assistance but its not helping me out.i tried it.


i am able to login in sytem and boss as sysdba

but while i am logging in wit my user name its displaying lik the following

ERROR:
ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress


Warning: You are no longer connected to ORACLE.
