Hi
I have a table which consists millions of rows in my production DB.While my user queries that table for information that takes more than 40minutes to fetch records from that table.
I decided to create a Bitmap Join index on this table, but, creating a Bitmap Join index will slowdown the update and insert operations very badly. So i dropped that idea. Now iam in confusion. Please help me with your suggessions on suitable index creation in the table.
Since this is very urgent please send your ideas As soon as possible.

Thanks.

Your question is the equivalent of "What sort of car should I buy?". It is too vague.

What sort of queries do you want to improve? Give a sample, plus the table structures, plus the volumes in each of the tables, plus the number of rows you expect to return, plus the acceptable response times you hope to achieve.
