I am new to Oracle. I have been asked to retrieve the contents of two stored prodecdures. I have hit the books and see all kinds of explanations on creating, dropping, and executing stored procedures. How do I just look at the procedure to see what it contains(SQL)?
Very newbie question I think.
Please help, I am exhausted trying to figure this out.

Thanks

from sqlplus

1. ED procedurename.sql
here ED means edit sqlplus command.

2 way

select text from user_source
where type='procedure/function' and
name='procname/funcname'

we can change user/all/dba used any one

Download something like SQL Developer and it will show you the code for all of your procedures, packages and functions, along with your tables, data, triggers etc etc.

I have this problem as well but I am using an ancient version of Oracle, 8i. This is not out of choice. At these ancient versions it is done differently but I don't know how. Can anyone help please?
