Hi,

I prepared the table emp :-
CREATE TABLE emp
(
emp_id NUMBER(6),
first_name VARCHAR2(20),
last_name VARCHAR2(25),
resume CLOB DEFAULT EMPTY_CLOB(),
picture BLOB DEFAULT EMPTY_BLOB());

then I add the row into the table
INSERT INTO emp (emp_id,first_name,last_name,resume,picture)
values (405,'Marvin','Ellis',EMPTY_CLOB(),NULL);

It gives the message 1 row created.
Then after when I query the table SELECT * FROM EMP;

It gives the error
Column or attribute type can not be displayed by SQL*Plus

Plz help me regarding this.

Regards
Namrata

SQL*Plus doesn't attempt to display BLOB values because these are binary fields and therefore give no meaningful output.

In order to see the blob content either convert it to clob or using toad you can view the content.
