Hi

I am trying to load a csv file to an Oracle Database.
Both the Control File and the csv file are in the same folder
and I invoke the SQL Loader using the following command.

D:\>sqlldr PL_ESC_FRANCE/PL_ESC_FRANCE control='d:\upload data\PL_INPUT_SEW.ctl'data='d:\Upload Data\PL_INPUT_SEW.csv' SQL*Loader: Release 9.2.0.1.0 - Production on Thu Nov 9 15:39:49 2006

Copyright (c) 1982, 2002, Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.

SQL*Loader-704: Internal error: ulconnect: OCIServerAttach [0]
ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error

the control file is

Options (SKIP=1)
load data
truncate
into table PL_INPUT_SEW
fields terminated by ","
optionally enclosed by '"'
(
PERIOD DATE "YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS" NULLIF ( PERIOD = "0000-00-00 00:00:00"),
CHANNEL1,
INTERNAL_EXTERNAL,
ENTITY_REGION_DESC,
PRODUCT_COA_CODE,
PRODUCT_COA_DESC,
UNIT,
GROSS_NUMBER,
WEIGHT,
CPCODE
)

Any help will be highly appreciated.
Regards
Lakshmi

this has nothing to do with sqlldr. Use the same connection details which you used to connect to sqlplus or toad or pl/sql developer session. It is complaining that it cannot communicate to oracle database. Check whether your listerner is running.

Thanks for you reply rajaram. The setting where correct and the reason it did not connect is in the sqlldr string need to mention the database instance i.e.

sqlldr username/password@databaseinstance and it worked perfectly.
