Hi All,

I am trying to start my lsnrctl, but unable to do so. See the following error:

When I tried to shut down the database:

I get the following

Waiting for a solution.

Thanks

Hi.
what is ur listener names.
i think ur not using default listener.
if yes then "prob" is new listener.

let try this.
cmd>set oracle_sid=db_name
cmd>lsnrctl start

or
cmd>set oracle_sid=db_name
cmd>lsnrctl start prod

Hope this helps.
MOhammad Taj.

To check what is the state of the database, you can see the alert log...does it record recent a shutdown of the db? also you can connect as sys with sysdha privilages and try 'shutdown immediate' command and post the output here.

Strange..can you post last 100 or 50 lines of your alert log?
