Hi all,

I am trying to rename my tablespace name using the following command:
The following error is noticed --> "ORA-01904: DATAFILE keyword expected".

Then i tried with ...
ALTER TABLESPACE OLD_TablespaceName RENAME TO NEW_TablespaceName DATAFILE 'path of my datafile';
No progress in this command too.

I want to use the same datafile associated with my existing tablespace.My requirement is to only change the tablespace name.
Can anyone help me in this regard.

Who told you that you could rename tablespaces, and why exactly would you need to?

As far as I'm aware, you can't, and the only thing you could do would be to create a new tablespace, move all the objects over, and then drop the old tablespace and datafiles. That doesn't allow your other objective of reusing the datafile, but it's about as near as I think you're going to get.
