I'm using Oracle 9i, and I encounter an "ORA-13203: failed to read USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA" error when I try to insert data to a table by using synonym of the table.

The table is called G_Charting and the synonym is called Charting. I can select data from table G_Charting by using its synonym, but cannot insert data. However it works for Oracle 10g.

So, am I correct in assuming that you cannot use synonyms on spatial tables for Oracle 9i?

Thank you.

I really wouldn't know; this is Oracle's error description - perhaps you'll understand what it means.
