Hi,

We have oracle 8i client and oracle 9i client on the same pc (win nt4.0 server). When we connect using oracle ole db driver and oracle 9i service name it gives error 'TNS name not resolved'. But the same with oracle 8i service name runs fine. What can be the problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

Try to create two separate (with different name) DB profiles using Oracle8i and Oracle9i ODBC drivers and use the respective profile names when you access either Oracle8i and/or Oracle9i. And Oracle ODBC driver is recommended rather than the one available from Microsoft. I too had similar problem with the same error message, when I installed Oracle9i and migrated from Oracle8i Personal Edition on my system.
Try it out and let me know, if you still need any help and I could be of any hellp for that.
Good luck :)
