I am using the following command to take a backup using Rman and it give the following error

RMAN> run {
2> allocate channel c1 type disk maxpiecesize=1000m format = '\\bnwsusr
3> backup database;
4> }

Check the alert<sid>.log for the associated error message and post only the relevant parts. If it happens to be an ORA-0600, check with metalink/oracle support.
Post your Oracle version and OS.
