I need a table with fileds having a CLOB datatype. The requirement is, the field length should be 30000.

Should the table like this ?
1.
CREATE TABLE Test_clob
(
CLOB_TXT CLOB NOT NULL
)
TABLESPACE DATA01

OR should I give the size like this.

CREATE TABLE Test_clob
(
CLOB_TXT CLOB (30000) NOT NULL
)
TABLESPACE DATA01

What's the correct way of defining it.

If use the option 1, then what would be the size of the clob_text field ? will it be 4gb (which is the max size of clob)

Please advise.
thanks

You would create the table as:

CREATE TABLE Test_clob
(
CLOB_TXT CLOB NOT NULL
)
TABLESPACE DATA01

and the CLOB's maximum size is 4gb.
