Hey all, if you get error messages and want to know what they mean try doing a search on this site, just for the error message and possible solutions:

Thank you for the link, one can also lookup Oracle Error Messages from the Oracle FAQ's advance search page.

I installed Personnel Oracle8 on my computer so i could do some home assignments. Soon i start SQL*Plus an usual window appears asking me to put some information, this is the log on window. Then i use scott/tiger as username and password and my name as host string. When i click OK an error msg comes out telling:no listener. What does it mean and what can i do ?
