Hi
i have to write a solaris shell script to monitor the archive log file growth in o/s level.So i have to fix an threshold value in my script,like the below mentioned:

THRESHOLD_PCT=1
export THRESHOLD_PCT
echo $THRESHOLD_PCT

AS in the above example if i set it to 1,what it means whether that 1 is a KB or MB or GB or any percentage value.

Please help me. Embarassed

Thanks
Raaj

What is THRESHOLD_PCT supposed to represent? And what are you gaining by monitoring the archive log "growth" ?

By monitoring the archive log "growth" ,restricts the archive log generation to that THRESHOLD_PCT value set.By doing so we can avoid the archive log space overflow error.
