Hi,
i hope all are fine. My problem is about fingerprint reader i want to use fingerprint reader in my Attendance System. Please Guide Me How can i do so.

1. How To store Fingerprints in database?
2. how to retrieve fingerprints from database?
3. how to match input fingerprints with stored fingerprints?
4. Datatypes to use for fingerprints ?

I shall be very thankful to you if you will guide me for this.
if you do not know completly please tell me how much you know.

I can only guess on this one. This depends on several factors like anything else, how you intend to communicate with the device. How did you plan on interfacing with the device? Here is one thought:

... if the deivce communicates via TCP

then you could use the UTL_TCP package to open a port, write to the device via the port, and then take a response from the port. It is just a thought.

I would hope the device allowe you to do at least the following:

1) capture a fingerprint (as a file? as a raw byte stream?)
2) send to, or set a fingerprint for, the device
3) compare two fingerprints and get back a pass/fail

You really are going to have to provide more information on the interface of the device. That is: how does the device talk to other software. There should be some programmer's manual for it.

Also, have you contacted the device manufacturer for help?

Do they have an API defined for the device?

Did any manuals come with the device?

Do you know anything about fingerprint matching? If not, then google it.
