Dear All,

Its urgent...

We are working on dblink related issue.
I've to create a dblink in 9i and the target db is in 10g, is this possible..?
Is there any constraint on the dblink like the dblink from lower version to higher version is not possible...?

Please provide pointers on this.

Cheers...
Nag

Hi

What problems do You have creating the link?
- Error messages are always easier to address.

I have used links from 10g to 9i and 8i, but I do not have expirence in using link from lower versions to 10g.
- You might have an issue there, but try it out!

If I'm not wrong, there should be no problem in creating a database link between 91 and 10g.

However, if you had to create a DB link between 8i and 10g, that wouldn't be possible - not directly. You should have a 9i instance "in between" and make two hops - 8i -> 9i -> 10g.
