I'm compiling an oracle package and am getting this error:

PLS-00517: Type mismatch between a select list element
'ASS_LC_POS' and corresponding table column in INSERT statement with a subquery

I am pretty much a newbie to Oracle - can anyone explain what this message means? I haven't included all the code (it's a lot!) but if necessary I can. Not sure what else you'd need to know... I'm declaring temporary tables before I compile my package (which inserts into them), 'ASS_LC_POS' is numeric and they (the temp tables) all compile fine. I'm not manipulating ASS_LC_POS at all, I just want the column returned.

Just want to get a better handle on what I could be doing wrong or what to look for... if anyone can help I'd be grateful!

Mike.
