Hi!
Is there any procedure for debugging the code in pl/sql line by line similar to VB?

Not in SQL*Plus, but you could use one of available GUI tools (SQL Developer by Oracle, TOAD by Quest Software, etc.) which provide such a functionality.

If those are not available to you, I guess you'll have to use DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE commands throughout the code in order to know what the procedure currently does and with which values.

There's a supplied package called DBMS_DEBUG, but I've never used it.

I've never even heard of DBMS_DEBUG; it appears that you don't know much about it either.

Ross already gave you a hint - now you know the name of the package. Is it really too complicated for you to use the Oracle Documentation search engine and read more about it yourself?
