Hi all,

I have a running Oracle9i installed in Solaris10. I need to port the whole database over to another instance of Oracle9i in Windows. I have tried various ways like export and import but failed. Is there any other recommended ways? Thanks for any help rendered.

How exactly?
Unfortunately, there is not much you can do here.
Export/import is the only method (easy, straight forward and affordable if the volume of data is not very high) when you are migrating between different operating systems (or you should have already been using transportable tablespaces).
Other method is to employ materialzed views, which is ideal if you want to minimize the downtime (but will take significant effor set up)

you can also consider "copy" command via sqlplus if data is small and have handful of objects.
However, copy will just help in getting table data copied, rest (index, procedures, functions etc. ) needs to be brought over manually or via exp/imp.
