We are trying to update a large weekend data load process. The process was written a long time ago and does a lot of dropping and recreating of indexes. What we wanted to do was to mark them unusable during data loads and then rebuild then after inserts are complete. What I found was that this works fine until you truncate a table. After a truncate, the unusable indexes are rebuilt. We have truncates thoughout this process, so changing that isn't an option. We have pretty much decided to go back to dropping and recreating the indexes. I hate to do that but can't come up with a solution to this problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Bill
