I tried and found that if we type "exp" on the commandline and give the schema username and password , we can exort it.

Mona,

Here is a handy export shell script (attached below) if you are running on a unix / linux env its a good starting point for a quick export. It will prompt you for the data you need to provide.

Which version on Oracle ur.
if 10g then used expdp and impdp instead of original exp n imp utilities.
