hi pals

i am newbie to oracle fild.

i used only personal oracle for win95.

just now i have installed oracle9i as enterprise edition.

after installation. i opened oracle9i then i asked username/password then i have entered scott/tiger as username and password. but it is not worked out. so again i entered system/manager as username/password. it too not worked.

so which is the correct usename/password.

how to resolve this problem.

You installed Oracle, so you should know the system and sys password. Oracle's demo user SCOTT has been fired. Try HR/HR instead, but it might be possible that this account is locked.

hi pals


i have installed it in windows xp.

i have given "oracle9i" as database name.

i have tried username:scott/system/hr
password:tiger/manager/hr
hoststring:oracle9i

when i install the oracle9i. it did not ask any password.

at this position how to resolve my problems.

pls help me to find the username and password.

hi pals

it show the error message in sql> prompt when i enter any username and password.

ERROR:
ORA-12560: TNS: Protocol Adaptor error



i have entered following username and password.

usernames: scott / system / internal / sys
password: tiger / manager / oracle /change_on_install

If relevant, post the error code(s).


As for the error message: check whether your database is up. Any other messages?

Hai,

try it as

scott/tiger@oracle9i

note:1) u do as above only once after installing.
2) from next time when u log in,
type as scott/tiger

I think u may get.
