hi,

I have one server machine and some client machines .I am maintaining the server machine as oracle server.In that server i declared utl_file_dir in init_newdb file . I am writing pl/sql file in client machine to read the file from local machine . I tried on that it is showing the error as

can't open file. can you please suggest me solution on this .

for oracle 9i and above, you must be using CREATE diretory. NOT UTL_FILE.
