hello friends,

i have few queries :

1) i have a variable of type NUMBER, if user inputs other than number, i would like to catch that EXCEPTION and i don't want to end the program, i would like give a msg and want to continue... how to handle this situation??

2) i have a situation to invoke some procedure at some time based on system time... is there any provision for it...?

pls help me in this regard

1. One way would be to use an overloaded package procedure, 1 that accepts a number, 1 that accepts varchar2 (maybe even another that accepts a date) Check out the pl/sql reference for Overloading.

2. Look for DBMS_JOB or DBMS_SCHEDULER
