External tables are created by using System tablespace... so is there any performance issue ???? i.e if they are used to read several MBs of data and write into an internal table.

There's very little data stored for external tables, (only the SQLLDR data really), so unless the table you load the data into is in the SYSTEM tablespace, you shouldn't have a problem.
