Hi All,
Maybe this could do with being in another thread, not sure.

Enterprise manager is reporting high mem utilization on Linux servers. I have been told that Linux grabs all memory available apart from that used by oracle, is this the case?

regards

Alan.

Yes, but Linux will free up memory & give to any application upon request.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick response. I had been looking at 'sar -r' and this was showing almost 100% mem utilization and 0% swap util so I guessed this was the case. However, it seems odd that enterprise manager is reporting high utilization.

you can also look at vmstat -s output , check how much memory do you have in inactive state

Thanks
