hello all , im a noob in oracle. Please teach me or send me the link.
i'm just wondering can how can i able to install oracle 8i in a new machine (windows server 2003 standard) and make it excalty same setting and db with the existing machine?

From existing - OS- win2k sp4,
Oracle- 8i Enterprise
Cname- OracleFirst

to New- - OS- win2k3 standard sp1
Oracle- 8i Standard
CName- OracleSec

You cannot make it 'exactly the same': different OS, different Oracle version, and Oracle 8i is desupported. In fact, Oracle 8i has never been certified for Windows 2003. Provided you succeed in installing obsolete software on the Windows 2003 machine you can use export/impport to copy the database.

what should i extra careful that have to take care when doing export and import.
