How can I detect the current Open Period [message #166633]

Hi all,
I'm trying to write a SQL statement that would return the current open period in Oracle Financials.
Is there a way of retrieving that information?

you can have multiple periods open.
Use table GL_PERIOD_STATUSES and application_id (which decides whether AP, PO or GL periods) and see the closing_status column value
