I am installing oracle 9i release 2 on redhat 9.
When I set the environment variable in .bash_profile for dispaly and then run the runintaller, it gives error display not set.
Then I deleted the diplay parameter from .bash_profile and then run the runinstaller in gui it runs. what can be the solution for that I can put the display parameter and run it from console.

The .bash_profile only executes when you login. So, you need to logout and login again for the DISPLAY to be set. Alternatively, run .bash_profile manually:

$ . ~/.bash_profile
