Username & password for Oracle 10g [message #16286]

Hi

Wondered if anyone knew the username and password to start Oracle 10g.� I have tried SCOTT, tiger.

SCOTT seems to work but tiger does not.

The default password for scott is tiger.
What do you mean 'scott seems to work but tiger does not' ??

When creating the database you were asked for the system-password. With user system you can reset any password:
alter user <<z>user> identified by <<z>new password>.

Dear Sir,

I have downloaded the oracle 10g from net and installed on my pc, now i am trying to connect it, it shows the error 'TNS protocol adapter error' and unable to login, i have entered the user name as scott and password as tiger.

Pl guide me if there is any other option for login.
Waiting ur reply.

at default the following user are r there
TSMSYS
SYS
SYSTEM
MGMT_VIEW OPEN
SYSTEM PSAPTEMP DEFAULT Dec 31, 2008 4:31:31 PM GMT+05:30
DIP
DBSNMP
SYSAUX

password was at the time of u given in installation

Check Mr Frank post; this is the best way to reset your password;

I don't know Mr Arju why your posting TNS related link?
