I am in the middle of installing Oracle9i database and Oracle Universal Installer is giving me the following error in the middle of configuing Oracle Database Configuration Assistant. Here is the error:
ERROR: oracle.sysman.assistant.util.sqlEngine.SQLFatalErrorException: ORA:01034: Oracle not available.

What does this Error mean? It Seems the Installer could not install or config the Oracle Database Configuration Assistant tool. I had the datafiles installed on a different directory drive than the program files and i selected a default database to be created for me as well. What did i do wrong? Please Help!
