Are you looking for upgrading from 11i9 to 11i10 of the E-Business Suite, or do you want to upgrade the database for your E-Business Suite instance from 9i to 10g?

For upgrading the Oracle E-Business Suite you should take a look at the following manuals:
Both are available for download from OTN.

The usual way to do it is to do the upgrade in a development environment and then to a full system test to make sure that nothing has broken, and if something is broken then fix and document the fixes. If you never have been part of an implementation or upgrade project and neither have anyone else in your organisation, then it would a good idea to get some professional outside assistance.

You should take special care in making sure that any customisations still work. Something that is often neglected is checking whether the customisations still are necessary. Often there are new features in the new release that could be used instead of the customisations.

Hi Aleksander,

Thanks for the reply,

This is the first time that my organisation will be doing an upgrade. We have never done it anywhere else. And there is lots of new forms and reports customisations that we have done.

These forms and reports are developed using forms and reports builder 6i. What will happen to these forms and reports while doing the upgrade.

regards,
rita

Rita,

It is impossible to say what will happen to the custom forms and reports in question. As long as you have not named the same as any OA standard forms or reports, they will not be overwritten. Whether they will work in the new version depends on whether the assumptions made when developing them still hold. You will have to analyse and retest each custom form and report.

Unless the forms and reports are in custom tops they wont be erased when we upgrade.

Please make sure before going any further.
