hi,

I have a requirement in text search where I have to set multiple
path for storing documents in the File system.

Is it possible to give multiple "Path" in the
ctx_ddl.set_attribute.

Files would be stored in folders like
1. c:\temp
2. c:\temp\loc1
3. c:\temp\loc1\loc2
4. c:\temp1

This is the code -

begin
ctx_ddl.create_preference('docname','FILE_DATASTORE');
ctx_ddl.set_attribute('docname','PATH','c:\temp');
end;
/

ORacle 9i windows.

thanx.

cheers

Remember that the paths need to be defined from the server!

The documentation says that you can separate the directory paths with colons ":". However, if you are on Windows, as I am, you have to use semicolons ";" instead. So, it would be:

begin
  ctx_ddl.create_preference ('docname', 'FILE_DATASTORE');
  ctx_ddl.set_attribute ('docname', 'PATH', 'c:\temp;c:\temp\loc1;c:\temp\loc1\loc2;c:\temp1');
end;
