Hi,

Go to forms builder...Edit Menu-->Preferences-->Runtime.
Give application server URL <ur machine ip>:8888/forms90/f90servlet [check this]
& web server location will be your browser window exe.

Start OC4J instance before u start running your form.

Hope it would work.

Regards,
Priya

Hi Priya,

I tried the steps u suggested and started OC4J instance but it looks to me that there is some problem with my OC4J instance, it just closes down after some few seconds showing some command line parameters.

Pls guide me if u r aware of this problem.

Hi,

One of my friend faced the same issue...The reason we found that she was not having admin rights. Mean to say, login user rights is restricted. Where are u running ur application from home or office? From office means, check your rights and try...
Pl let me know your pbm if still exists.

Priya

IS this from running the form from within Forms Builder or from the OracleAS Forms Services panel via the menu?

I am getting a similar error and to answer DJMartins question - I am getting this after running the form application within FormBuilder. I have started oc4j but still get the error. Not sure if something to do with the ports is teh issue

Yes, it is OK; OC4J window should stay open (until you Shut down OC4J instance).

Thanks for answer me. I resolve the error problem, but now when the form builder runs, it opens the browser but only shows the characters "ORACLE FORMS". Do i need to install something else?

I am using Windows server 2003 SP1 with Explorer 6.

Thanks in advance

Did you correctly set Forms preferences (Edit menu - Preferences - Runtime tab)? Try to reset Application Server's URL to default.

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools - Internet options - Advanced tab and (under the Security node) check the "allow active content to run in files on My Computer" checkbox.

Disable firewall (if you use it).

Thanks for the answer and concern, but i already did that and it´s still showing the same characters.

When I use firefox 3.5 it´s breaks and close the browser. When I use Netscape 9 it´s tell me that i need a plugin, I installed the jdk 6 with the jre 6 and add the .dll to the plugin but nothing.

Maybe, there is a problem with the versions I am using; also the database is in a server computer using oracle database 10g, and I have the application server and the developer 10g in this computer.

Do I have to use Windows server 2003 with SP2?

Thanks in advanced

Thanks for your answer. I did what you said about the prefix, then i run it and told me that i have to activate activex. I activated it; and now when i try to run it, it´s open and then close the window immediately and never see nothing.

Do i need some extra instalation of activex? I just installed the Jinitiator 1.3.1.28, jdk6 and jre6.

I hope to solve this soon. Thanks you in advance for the answers and concern.

This are my first forms in 10g, and the test never runs, it close immediately. I had always worked in Forms 6i, now I need to migrate 500 forms and 1000 reports to 10g.

My solution by now was to install Jinitiator 1.3.1.22, with JDK 1.4.2_06 and Netscape 7.1 and it works. But I need it to work in explorer 6, for production.

I thing that the problem could be with my windows server 2003, because when i run the jinitiator from the control panel, it crash and close, I looked for and intall many Jinitiator .22, but is not the problem.

Maybe someone can help me with this problem in IE6. Thanks in advance. I really appreciate your help.

At the end I only make it works with IE6 in Windows XP and never in server, vista or windows 7. if you want it to work use one of this convinations:

Windows 2000 SP3 or XP
Internet Explorer 6.0
Java Plug-in 1.4.2_(06+)
Oracle JInitiator 1.3.1.22 (It will ask for it automatically the first time like a ActiveX plug-in)

OR

Windows 2000 SP3, XP or server
Netscape Navigator 7.1
Java Plug-in 1.4.2_(06+)
Oracle JInitiator 1.3.1.22

Also check that the firewall is not blocking the "Oracle Run Forms"

In case you are using IE6 verify that you can run ActiveX components. You can see that in Internet Options > Segurity > Personalise Level > Controls and Complements of ActiveX
Finaly you have to enable IE6 for running contents in: Internet Options > Segurity > Allow contents to run in PC File. (Many these are not the correct names of the menues but you can understand them)
