Wenn I execute R3trans -d, it creates a "trans.log", ***********************************************************************.
The sqlnet.ora look like that:

Fatal NI connect error 12560, connecting to:
(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=BEQ)(PROGRAM=oracle)(ARGV0=oraclec12)(ARGS='(DESCRIPTION=(LOCAL=YES)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=beq)))'))(CONN ECT_DATA=(SID=c12)(CID=(PROGRAM=d:\oracle\c12\920\bin\ORACLE.EXE)(HOST=IDES04)(USER=OraUser))))

VERSION INFORMATION:
TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 9.2.0.4.0 - Production
Oracle Bequeath NT Protocol Adapter for 32-bit Windows: Version 9.2.0.4.0 - Production
Time: 22-JAN-2005 03:16:38
Tracing not turned on.
Tns error struct:
nr err code: 0
ns main err code: 12560
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
ns secondary err code: 0
nt main err code: 530
TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error
nt secondary err code: 2
nt OS err code: 0

-------

trans.log looks like this.
*** ERROR => Cannot connect: TNS-name missing 997 0.114138
2EETW169 no connect possible: "DBMS = ORACLE --- TWO_TASK = ''"

I thought, it is because of dbms/type parameter, but it didn't help.

Any idea?
Thanks

Baran

Hi,

I am facing the same problem, only on Linux.

Did you find a solution?

What does "r3trans" have to do with Oracle?

Please read & follow Posting Guidelines below

R3trans is a tool used by SAP to check database connectivity. The database, Oracle 10g in my case has to do something with "Oracle" Hence I posted in here.
The error is TNS-name missing.
Another thing possibly to do with Oracle.
Hence, I posted in here.
Also, After googling for this error, I found a post ALREADY active in these forums.
Another reason to reply asking if a solution was found for this problem.

If you still think my question is placed in the wrong forums, kindly delete this thread since many more like me might come looking for answers in this forum only to be guided to the Rulebook.

Shantanu

The post you found is more than 3 years old.

Stating that you got a specific error code is practically useless.

12560, 00000, "TNS:protocol adapter error"
// *Cause: A generic protocol adapter error occurred.
// *Action: Check addresses used for proper protocol specification. Before
// reporting this error, look at the error stack and check for lower level
// transport errors. For further details, turn on tracing and reexecute the
// operation. Turn off tracing when the operation is complete.

When was the last time this worked?
What changed?
