I have a suse 7.1 linux server. I use Oracle database 9.0.1
The /etc/init.d/dbora script blocks on
---------
ORA-24314: service handle not initialized.

ORA-12162: TNS:service name is incorrectly specified.
---------
I do not understand. ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID are well defined.

Some help would be well appreciated :)

Hai

1) Open Terminal
2) Go to Oracle Home path eg: /home/dsdsd/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_2/bin
3) Type ./dbca
4) now One UI Screen(Database Configuration Assistance Opens) . Follow the Instructions given in that Screen
5) If u Not Already Created Database , create the Database And Finally Click the Finish
6) Now u try . . Username ; SYS, SYSMAN

Still any doubts mail me to yeapmadhu@gmail.com
