Hi Guys

Recently i have installed Oracle 8i on Sun solaris and i have also created Database . But after starting Database , when i logged in and do  ed in sql prompt i.e

SQL>ed 1.sql

file 1.sql does not getting editted.

can anybody help me why i am getting this error ?

Hi,

You need to define an editor:

SQL> DEFINE _editor="vi"


BTW: If you add this command to your login.sql or glogin.sql file, it will be executed every time you start SQL*Plus.
