I have a table that has 1 million rows inserted per day. After the insert there are about 8 updated statements to the same row inserted. What overall parameters should I think about? I can get about 100 transactions per second (1 insert and 8 updates = 1 transaction). 1 row 2K. I believe I should be able to handle more. Oracle 9i, redhat 8, dual xeon 2.4, 2G Ram, fiber connected netapp. Does 100 - 120 transactions per second sound right?
