Sir,

In UNIX, we use BASH shell, to get the previous / next command by simply pressing the arrow keys.

Similary, in DOS, we use doskey.

Is there any such provision available in Oracle to get the previous commands in SQL prompt.

Or such things could be made available in Oracle.

I am using Oracle 8.1.5 version on UNIX.

with thanks

In unix clients you cannot help it.
With windows clients if you can use sqlplus.exe instead of sqlplusw.exe ( which is default), you can make use of arrow keys and additionallly,
you can display the contents of afiedt.buf line by line in sql prompt!.
