Hi
I am facing a problem while trying to connect with oracle database server from a client PC. My oracle version is 8.1.7 . and using developer 6i in client PC.
while i am trying to connect it says ora-12571 error. (packet writer failure). as long as i know this happens due to network connection problem but i can ping to oracle server from my pc. Moreover from other client PC I can connect to database.
What should I do to solve this problem. Can anybody please help me. Thanks

Hi Buddy ,
Do one thing copy the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora from the path where ur oracle client is installed and copy the same in the Network/admin folder in the path where ur forms 6i is installed.
I hope this will work..
