Hello,
I have a problem creating an index of type ctxsys.context. When i issue the command
create index ix_w_fulltext on w_fulltext( text ) indextype is ctxsys.context
i always get the error
ORA-29855: Fehler bei Ausführung der Routine ODCIINDEXCREATE
ORA-20000: interMedia Text-Fehler:
DRG-11422: Initialisierung der linguistischen Dienste nicht erfolgreich
DRG-00100: internal error, arguments : [[52100]],[[drxs.c]],[[553]],[[gxtopen]],[[1]]
DRG-11208: ORACLE_HOME wurde nicht eingestellt

ORA-06512: in "CTXSYS.DRUE", Zeile 126
ORA-06512: in "CTXSYS.TEXTINDEXMETHODS", Zeile 78
ORA-06512: in Zeile 1
(which is German, sorry, but apparently some task thinks that ORACLE_HOME has not been set, and therefore some linguistic services cannot be initialized.)

We have running Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 under Windows 2000 Server.
On this machine a previously installed Oracle 8.0 Client exists, therefore i thought that there maybe is a mess with the different settings of ORACLE_HOME. but i checked the registry into detail, explicitly set ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID as system wide environment variables, found out that from version 8.1.7 the context servers run as an Oracle shadow process, found out that TEXT_ENABLE in init.ora is obsolete, played around with the EXTPROC / IPC sections of tnsnames.ora and listener.ora, although i read that for 8.1.7 this isn't necessary any more - but i didn't want to miss the chance -...

by the way, the user with which i want to create the index is member of the role CTXAPP.

the context service itself seems to run ok, cos i issued the command
exec ctx_output.start_log( 'log' )
and logging started without problems.

is there any place left where i could set ORACLE_HOME? i really have no idea which task still could need this setting, as Oracle 8.1.7 under Windows is said to contain almost all external processes in one task.

Thank you in advance,
Michael
