Greetings,

I am writing a VB app that works with an Oracle DB. I don't know much about Oracle. I'm using ADO to interface with the DB. When I try to insert a row into a table, I get the error "illegal use of long data type". In my code the variable that holds the data value is declared as a Variant, and the ADO parameter for the data has a data type of adInteger, which holds a 4 byte integer. Is there another data type I can use for the parameter? Is there a simple way to solve this?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Mike
