There is no need for a tutorial. Just install APEX 5.0.3 and it will upgrade all your applications. If you are worried, you can set the compatibility back to 4.x, but I've never had any problems.

What have you been reading? If other people have had problems, give the the references and perhaps it can be determined whether you are likely to have the same issues.

Hi pcouas,

I don't know why you are afraid of the migration process. Atleast, you must try to migrate, if then you face any problem then you can ask for a solution. As you are so afraid of the migration process, I am sharing few things you must keep in mind before the migration process.

Requirements

Database version requirements:
Version 11.1.0.7 (EE,SE,SE1) or higher
XE with Version 11.2 (11.2.0.2)

Database storage requirements:
APEX Tablaspace takes around 220 MB
SYSTEM Tablespace takes around 100 MB
Each additional language installation takes 60 MB

WEB Listener version requirements:
Oracle REST (formally known as APEX Listener) Version 2.0.3 or higher
Oracle HTTP Server 11g (dependent on the Database Version)
Embedded PL/SQL Gateway ab 11.1g (dependent on the Database Version)

WEB Listener storage requirements:
Directory /i/ takes now 160 MB (around 12.000 files about 800 directories)
INFO: To support old applications APEX 5 includes all old and new files.

Client requirements - APEX Application Builder:
Internet Explorer 9
Firefox 35
Chrome 40
Safari 7

Client requirements - APEX Applications
IE 7 or higher
Universal Theme requires IE 9 or higher
INFO: IE 6 will no longer work with APEX 5!

The two most common migration-ways:

Upgrade towards an existing database

Paul, you are not Tobias Arnhold, are you? Therefore, you should show a courtesy and name a source you copy/pasted the above message from.

You did not.

What I'm saying is: if you plagiarize someone's work, literally from word to word, you should mention that. The way you posted that message (#658430), it seems that you are the author. But, you are not.

No but you use his article as if it is yours, this is stealing others work.
The correct way to post would be to do what Littlefoot told you.

Also Littlefoot asked you a question about your previous answer in another topic yestertday, why don't you answer him or are you unable to explain your post as you also stole it from another author?

Excuse Me!!

Michel what do you mean by "why don't you answer him or are you unable to explain your post as you also stole it from another author?" That's my wish to answer or not. You can't force me to answer any of the thread.

Yes, you can do as you want as I can point you to your bad behavior.
And what I mean is that there you posted an answer which is not understandable and Littlefoot asked you to explain.
I wonder why you don't want.

I will answer to littlefoot for his question. If you have any query related to that you can leave your reply there instead of pointing out me for a discussion you were not a part of.

Yeah, this a public forum.

But if you have any query related to yesterday's topic, then why didn't you asked that tomorrow on that thread??

I have no question, this specific topic is not my point.

Ok, If you don't have any question then there is no use of discussion about that topic.
