You do not need to attend what you refer to as "DBA workshop". You do need to attend an Oracle University course of some kind before they will give you the certification - but it can be virtually any course on the DBA/SQL/PLSQL curriculum,
http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=244#10

You can study any way you like. For example, I wrote the Oracle Press exam guides and I think they are pretty good,

http://www.amazon.com/Oracle-Database-Installation-Administration-1Z0-062/dp/0071829237
or Matthew Morris's guides may be a good alternative (or complementary) study aid,

You can sit the exams any time, and take whatever course you choose with Oracle Uni before or after. If they do not have a teaching centre near you, do it online. I teach all their courses online for them, I frequently have students from your part of the world attending.

Lastly, don't waste time time with 11g, you should take the 12c exams.

If you want to be a DBA and haven't read the Oracle Concepts Manual, I would highly recommend reading it cover to cover before taking any other training or reading any study materials specific to the exams. It's probably the single most readable manual Oracle has created; it's free; and it will provide the background and context for everything else that you use in studying for the DBA exams.

Release 11.2 dates back to 2009. Premier support ended January last year.

As T. Kyte often said, if you read Database Concepts, you will know more than 90% of the DBA.

Hi John,

I enquired some institutes who offer Oracle training and are authorized training centers as well , but there are some training centers who are claiming that they are "Oracle Workforce development program" and they are also authorized , how can i validate that they are telling the truth. One such institute from India is isql global. How different is this workforce development from oracle authorized centers.
