Use SUBSTR; leave the last several characters intact, mask the other ones with asterisks.

I should think the Conceal Data property of the text item would work better than using Substr(). This will mask the entire input, but I can't think of any reason why you would want to reveal part of the input and not all of it.

Because, sometimes, people want to display only part of (for example) credit card number and conceal the rest of it?

Fair enough, I can understand concealing part of the number in that scenario, just not with a password entry Smile

On the other hand, you are right & I agree with you. If it is about a password, the conceal data property makes sense. The truth is: I didn't read the question carefully enough and saw only "significant" (yeah, right ...) parts of it, such as "how to show ..." and "**********456". I completely ignored the "password" part of it. My bad.

So: partially concealed password doesn't make much sense. Some - yes. For example, if you have numerous accounts and passwords, it might be handy if you see just part of it which would remind you of the rest of the password. Rather stupid reason, I admit. Maybe the OP will explain it better.

@jgjeetu,

You don't need to post an image to post just text.
So just post the text (but post it formatted).
