Hi,

We have migrated database data from physical servers to virtual servers. i want to ensure all database parameters are set correctly in both physical and vblock servers.My question is what are all the parameters need to check and compare in both servers to ensure database from both servers ( physical/vblock ) are in sync.

Database used -- RAC database

OS used -- RHL 5.7

Thank you

which metric measures "correct"?
If a parameter is correct for you, does this mean it is correct for me.
Why do you even need any parameter if single value is always correct?

how high is high?

Blackswan,

Actually the database exist in physical server is set same configuration in vblock server database.So to be proactive in preventing database issue we plan to set same parameters in target database as we have for source database.

Thank you

Assuming you're using SPFILES (rather than PFILE) to start the databases, on both databases:

SQL> create pfile from spfile;

Then compare the two files using "sdiff", for example.

However, if you are using PFILES on both databases:
sort <pfile_name.ora>  > new_filename.ora

Then, again, compare the two resultant files with a utility such as "sdiff".
