I am totally new to Oracle forms. I have a doubt. I have learned that I can create a form using datablock and canvases. I have added an item checkbox to the datablock and I set it as a database column. The column name which I gave was not in the table associated with the datablock. It was in another table..But while compiling compiler didnt generate any errors. Could somebody please explain the reason behind this?

The compiler doesn't check that. You will get an error when you try to query/insert/update data in the form at runtime.
