Hi there,

I downloaded Oracle Fusion Middleware11g Forms and Reports (ofm_frmrpts_win_11.1.2.0.0_64_disk1_1of1). When I begin to extract I am getting bogged down with a password message and that is:

File Windows-amd64 is password protected. please enter the password in the box below.

BTW- I downloaded Windows64 based forms and reports on my windows xp pro machine. I am trying to unzip them and burn it on a DVD so that I can install them on my new dell windows 7 professional laptop.

I have no idea of what the password is.Can any one help me to clear this hurdle?

Regards,
Sandeep

Where did you download this file from? Oracle does not password protect their downloads, or at least not the last time I d/l from their legitimate site.

Hi Joy,

Even I was zapped when I saw the message that was password protected. I am aware that Oracle does not password protect their software. I have downloaded all legitimate software from Oracle's website in the past including Oracle11g 64 bit and will keep continuing to download from their site. I don't know why the password issue has come up. So wondering if any one has any idea on that; else I will have to download that again.

Thanks,
Sandeep

Here's how I understood it: in order to download software from OTN, you have to have an account. You are identified by username and password. I believe that @mermarmad suggested use of that (OTN account's) password.

Hi there,

Thanks for the update. This never even occurred to me. However I was frustrated with the way it kept asking the password and so much so that I had to downgrade my WIN 7 64 bit to WIN 7 32 bit (professional) and then install Oracle 11g 32 bit. After this I tried to install Oracle forms 11g, no success. I installed virtual box and then installed XP on top of it and went with Oracle 10g database and forms/reports 10g. I am happy with it and as I understand I see no major difference between 10g and 11g (forms/reports).

Thanks again,
Sandeep

Here's how I understood it:...

I understood it as use your oracle account and password while "extracting." Hence, the "huh?"
